The different groups of criteria for prediction of flying qualities (FQ) and pilot induced oscillation (PIO) were developed at pilot-vehicle lab of Moscow aviation institute during the last 25 years are discussed. One of them is requirements to parameters of highly augmented aircraft. Four such criteria for FQ and PIO prediction are considered. The same principles for modification are proposed for all of them. The other type of criteria is based on the requirements to pilot-aircraft system. A number of such criteria developed at PVL are discussed in the paper. The third group of criteria developed at MAI the calculated pilot rating. There is considered a number of such criteria for single loop, multichannel, multimodality piloting tasks. It is discussed also the relationship between the requirement to flight safety and flying qualities demonstrated the necessity to modify this requirement for several classes of aircraft.
